Golden Engagement Photographer | Kendra+Zack
Kendra & Zack are one of the sweetest couples I’ve met. I can honestly say that these two have become my friends. When I first met Kendra & Zack, I asked them to meet me at a cute little coffee shop in town to go over wedding plans and their engagement session. One of the first things that stood out to me at our initial meeting together was the genuine love these two had for each other. I just remember how Zack would snuggle up to Kendra while she was talking, holding her hands and smiling at her. When they would talk about their relationship together, they couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. Their love was so radiant and it made me realize how much I love being a Golden Engagement Photographer. They really are truly in love and so excited about their future together.
When Kendra and Zack met me in Golden for their engagement session I was SO excited. There’s nothing better than photographing the love story of two people madly in love who aren’t afraid to show it! We were having a great time venturing around the historical park taking pictures at all the unique places Golden has to offer. However I noticed that something was a little different with Kendra & Zack this time, their compassion for each other was still there of course, but their mood seemed a little somber. Midway through our session, during the wardrobe change, Kendra came to me and told me that Zack’s father has terminal cancer. Suddenly it made sense. As her eyes started to fill with tears, she told me that this was a very difficult time for Zack and they were just struggling to celebrate their wedding knowing this news. My heart instantly broke for them. When I lived in Florida, my little brother was diagnosed with Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma. Watching somebody you love go through the fight of a horrible disease like cancer is heart wrenching. Thankfully my little brother overcame the fight against cancer. I know the pain of watching someone go through something like that. I told Kendra that Zack’s dad would want them to be happy, he would want them to celebrate their engagement and their wedding. I’m so glad that they were able to push through and share the passion they have for each other even though this was a difficult time in their lives.
Jesus says in Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze.”
I’m grateful for the time I’ve had with Kendra & Zack, I admire their compassion for each other. Their love for each other is radiant and undeniable. I think that is something we all search for in life. Couples like this are what inspire me to do exactly what I do. It NEVER gets old! I can only wish the best for Kendra and Zack and I’m very excited to photograph their wedding in October. Be sure to to keep an eye out for their wedding photos!
